Malawi to Host 6th National Championship (26-29 April 2019)
The Association of Draughts in Malawi (ADMA), to this far, has managed to conduct
competitions at district and regional levels from December last year to March this year. The aim was to uncover hidden talent that can be natured for upcoming international event
From 26-29 April, 2019 the association will conduct its 6th National Championship in the city of
Mzuzu at Mphatso Motel with an aim to produce a sturdy national team that will represent Malawi in the forthcoming World Draughts Championship in September 2019.
Malawi has been represented in the global Crash twice and in both occasions emerged African best. This is the honour that we cannot afford to lose hence the need to have a serious National Crash. Each region has produced 10 Athletes that will join ceded Malawi masters in the national finals. We will have 46 athletes from all corners of Malawi nation.
Further the Association will hold an Elective AGM prior to the championship that will culminate into general elections. New office Bearers will start work immediately after being ushered into office
Athletes are expected to battle out for the top 5 bracket which is earmarked for the national team that will surprise the world in Russia. Three Malawian Masters who were ceded in the qualifiers will have to prove that they are indeed the right material for the world stage.
