GANIZANI MAJAWA, NEW MALAWI CHAMPION ALONGSIDE HIS TEAM MBAYANI DRAUGHTS CLUB.
It is finally done, the long awaited First National Draughts Tournament which had 7 teams from across the country having 5 players from each club was a thrirer, a new Champion has emerged in a fantastic style. The young man named Ganizani Majawa, 20 years of age remained unbeaten from game 1 up to game 30. The former Champions Enock Makoka and Thomson Baba who managed to take position 2 and 3 respectively were amazed at such a wonderful perfomance. The new Champion drew 0-0 against both former Champions.
By winning the tournament he has qualified to represent Malawi in the forth coming World Championship which will take place in Russia at St Petersburg, The Champion has so far told supporters that he will bring medals from Russia no doubt about it.
On the other hand Mbayani Draughts Club in which the Champion plays emerged winners and are current champions First National Draughts Cup, Seconded by Ndirade Draughts Club. Both clubs are coming from Blantyre the commercial City of Malawi while on Position 3 were Kawale Hammers Draught Club, this Team comes from the CapitaL City, Enock and Baba both come from this Club.
