Munthali Open Draughts Bonanza

In a quest to promote the draughts sport in Malawi the president of the Association of Draughts in Malawi, Mr Misheck Munthali has taken a diferent step he has infact started sponsoring a bonanza called Munthali Open Draughts Bonanza. He sets aside every month about k20 000. 00 which is about 240 000. 00 per year for players to compete in the bonanza. There are two divisions, Top Masters Division and Junior Masters Division. Whoever gets first position in theJunior Masters Division gets promoted into the First Division and who ever gets last position in the first division gets demoted to the Junior Division. This system of play has enhanced the player perfomance as it makes players to work hard to avoid relegation

The Bonanza starts at 12 noon every sunday, whoever comes after 2PM is not allowed to play and the Bonanza is played at a place close to Ndilande Post Office. The Executive Committee is currently looking for a good place condusive for such a bonanza. Every body is welcome to play the game as the bonanza is open. This is a deliberate move so as to get hold of all players that are within Blantyre, we are hoping to increase membership base through this Bonanza
